Sidekick Games Announces AQUA

Today, indie publisher Sidekick Games
announced AQUA: Biodiversity in the Oceans,
their first Generational Game set for worldwide
release February 2024.
AQUA lets you create enchanting underwater
worlds around a coral reef hotspot to attract an
array of marine animals in a thematic tile-laying
game, beautifully illustrated by acclaimed artist
Vincent Dutrait.
Designed by father and son duo Dan & Tristan Halstad, AQUA came to life early in the Covid isolation. “When the pandemic hit and we were stuck inside, I was looking for an activity to engage my then 7 year old son Tristan” Dan Halstad says. He continues, “Tristan dreams of becoming a marine biologist and a game designer, so I figured there could be no better activity than combining those dreams”.
In line with their Generational Game’s philosophy, Sidekick Games co-founders Asger Harding Granerud and Daniel Skjold Pedersen, developed the family variant to focus on accessibility so anyone can enjoy it. AQUA also features an advanced game with full achievement and solo modes that will challenge seasoned gamers and emphasizes endless replayability.
AQUA is designed for 1-4 players, ages 8+ and plays in 30-45 minutes. It includes 70 Coral tiles, 72 Small Animal tiles, 15 Large Animal tiles, 4 Hotspot tiles, 24 Ecosystem tiles, 1 Sea Snail tile, 1 Scorepad, 1 Rules booklet and an easy-to-assemble insert.
