The Op Games Pairs with Sony Pictures Consumer Products to Cook Up Breaking Bad MONOPOLY®, TRIVIAL PURSUIT®, and More

In case the traditional trivia and trading games were falling short for today’s Netflix specialists and dabbling capitalists, The Op Games and Sony Pictures Consumer Products have partnered to bring Breaking Bad versions of MONOPOLY®TRIVIAL PURSUIT®, and puzzles to the table this year, paving the way for show buffs and gamers alike to self-righteously attribute their calculated victories to science.

The licensed game publisher is excited to announce these co-branded titles following last October’s Netflix premier of El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, steadfastly filling a void for fans still reeling from the reprise of their favorite characters. “As a fan, gamer, and collector, I’ve always felt somewhat underserved [in terms of series merchandise in the marketplace],” says The Op’s Director of Product Development and show enthusiast, Casey Sershon. 

Loyalists like Sershon have a chance to re-binge every episode this Sunday with a Breaking Bad marathon on AMC, which leads up to the mid-February television airing of El Camino and fifth season premiere of spin-off Better Call Saul.

Breaking Bad Trivial Pursuit

Consistent with The Op’s previous formulas, fans can anticipate the fast-paced TRIVIAL PURSUIT®: Breaking Bad to contain 600 hard-hitting questions from six categories centered around the multi-faceted storyline, while MONOPOLY®: Breaking Bad will deliver fond flashbacks with custom currency featuring the faces of Heisenberg, Jesse, Hank, members of the White Family and more. Players will also make their gameboard rounds with tokens sculpted after Tio’s Bell, a Gas Mask, Heisenberg’s Hat, and other memorable visuals across the show’s five seasons. 

By collaborating with Sony Pictures Consumer Products to bring these blue-tinged twists on the classic games—most importantly with the input of series creator Vince Gilligan—the game designers hope fans will relive the iconic TV drama’s ups and downs. “For many of us here, these products will be personal favorites,” says Sershon.
